This page explains how information is handled on this website. Coast Journal is a static reference site and is designed to collect as little as possible.
Information collected
This site does not require an account and does not ask for personal information to read its articles. No analytics or advertising trackers are installed by the site itself.
Cookies and local storage
A single preference is stored in your browser's local storage to remember whether you accepted or rejected the cookie notice, so the notice is not shown repeatedly. This value stays in your browser and is not transmitted. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.
Contact form
The contact form is a frontend-only feature. When you submit it, the form simulates a response in your browser and clears the fields. It does not transmit, email, or store the name, email, or phone number you enter.
External links and images
Articles link to external references and load photographs hosted on Wikimedia Commons. When your browser requests those resources, the external services may receive standard request information such as your IP address. Their handling of that data is governed by their own policies.
Changes
If this policy changes, the update date above will be revised. Questions can be sent through the contact form.
